Camping at Blood Hill
Due to the success of the first two Blood Hill camps we are holding another over the weekend of September 12 and 13. There will be a very large field, a couple of portaloos and a great view of the Hampshire countryside.
You provide a tent, some food and drink and whatever else you think is necessary for a group of friends to enjoy themselves over a relaxing weekend. Military vehicles optional. Where is it? Click here Proudly mangling bits and bytes since the turn of the century |

Just to give you a clue: Past Blood Hills have included Saturday Disco, Sunday brunch, green laning, musketry, drive out to pub with vehicle show and hog roast, visit to Fort Nelson, children running freely in the countryside, sitting with a book and a cuppa, erecting marquees in the dark and part in the hedge, vehicle obstacle course, barbecues, swapping vehicles, chat, laughter, shared food and drink and more. RE: Camping at Blood Hill
........well, despite the gearbox problems with the Saracen, both Nikki and I, and of course Brad thoroughly enjoyed our short break.
Brad didn't want to go home without a ride in the Sabre, and was quite upset when it didn't materialize, it seems he'll have to wait a lot longer..... He did have great fun playing with Jack, George and the other kids. Saracen broke down at 'T' junction just outside Droxford/Corhampton, near railway bridge. Got going again, only to break down again at 'T' junction of Mortimers lane and Winchester Road, in Fair Oak. ...-had to resort to recovery, this time, as it wouldn't select any gears.... 2hrs later and the man who can, from Boarhunt Recovery turned up, with his amazing low-loader, and saracen had a 'ride' back to Malcolm's yard. It turned out that the driver is an ex-Royal Tank Regiment Driver, used to Challengers, he was impressed with the saracen, who knows, ....we may have another member, soon. -watch this space for news of Repairs .......
......gone to read EMERs, ref: replacing Gearbox Assembly, Saracen A.P.C., all variants...... methinks this'll be a long job! |

Had you thought about avoiding 'T' junctions and just using crossroads and roundabouts? ![]() (And you can tell Brad I didn't get a ride in the Sabre either ... ) Proudly mangling bits and bytes since the turn of the century |
