Be like our club members when invited to climb onto, over and inside a vehicle. Push, pull, prod, poke and pry. If you break something you get to keep the pieces.

There are a lot of individual little articles written at various times by various authors. You can read through them by running down each page and clicking “read more” if an article (post) takes your fancy. Or you can view a group of articles on similar themes that are organized into categories. Look at the right hand side of the page and click on whichever category meets your needs:

Don’t worry if what you see on this page doesn’t match with what is there on the sidebar, this site is constantly evolving and the illustrations are all taken from the very early days before the site went “live” – opened to the public. As the site is being updated frequently any picture on this page is out of date within a couple of days!
Because it is easy to update the content it is easy to update the events list. Again look to the right hand side of the page – the “sidebar”.

There is an area marked “Future Events” which shows the first five upcoming trips, meetings, shows or visits. At the bottom is the “View All Events” link – to view all future events click on that and you will be able to select either a calendar showing events month by month or a list of all future events in the diary with the option of reading more about any one of them by clicking …

If you go to the top of the page – you can use the page up key, your mouse or click on the”Return Top” button at the bottom of the right hand side of your screen -

- you will see the tabs at the top of the screen. “Home” takes you to the front page of the site, ”About ” displays links to various pages about the club, ”Contact us” … well, you get the idea

If you do a “mouseover” – hover the mouse pointer over a tab like galleries a drop down menu appears:

so click on the subject that interest you and away you go.
Is there something you want to get to quickly? Maybe you saw a post about a French truck. Use the search facility, click on “search at the top of the page and a box is highlighted

type in your search term “French” or “truck”, click the magnifying glass and your search is returned:

If you want to ask a question use the “Contact Us” tab, mouseover the tab and select from the drop down tab. Maybe you want to contact the bloke in charge of the social side to moan about the appalling lack of things that he organises. Select ”Social Events” and you are presented with a contact form:

To ease the burden on the site admins, who spent a lot of time on previous sites deleting posts from spammers and the like who wanted to sell us viagra and bodily enhancements we have made the contact forms a little more difficult for the software used by spammers to fill in. (And for the record we are both impressively well endowed and possessed of the stamina of a stallion. Ladies, please use the “Site Admin” contact form … )
As a result of our security measures you will need to fill in your mail address twice and, when you have finished the rest of the form, fill in the “CAPTCHA code shown in coloured numbers and figures – in this instance “WFV5″, Then click on submit. The person you wish to contact will receive your message as an email with your return address so they can answer you directly, just bear with them as most club officials lead busy lives trying to ean enough to keep their vehicles in fuel and spares.
And, if a post has stimulated you to reply with a comment then, if comments are welcomed (and they are for most posts) then click on the “write a comment” link

Type your comment and click submit:

And in the sample comment above is an explanation of how it will be dealt with.
And lastly, if you want to see some of the older stuff, if you wondered what happened in , say, November 2010, you can click on that month in the “Archives” section of the sidebar and see all the posts from then:

And the calendar? Why are several dates circled? Those are the days on which at least one post was added, click on an individual day to see that day’s posts. And why does November 2010 have no posts before the 15th? Because that is the bay this blog was born!
If you like this blog and wonder how much effort it took to set up and run then the answer may surprise you. I am a moderately experienced computer user with no programming skills and only a hazy idea of things like HTML and CSS commands. The site is running on WordPress which is one of those wonderful collobarative, non-commercial pieces of software that is maintained and expanded by an army of very inventive and clever people around the world. As a result it is easy and intuitive to use with thousands of plug-ins and add-ons to customise it to your personal needs
Check out wordpress.org and, if you fancy developing a site of your own, this may help:
