Sunday the 9th of January dawned bright and clear after a week of dark skies and often heavy rain. Lunch had been scheduled for 12:00 at the Hunter’s Inn, Swanmore, military vehicles optional.
… and all in the hall
everyone was jolly
and having a ball!
Just returned, pleasantly full, from the West Meon Hut where we enjoyed an evening of good company and food. It was our annual Christmas meal, 38 strong and from all over the Solent area lured both by the event itself and the bargain price of £12.50. On arrival we found that the committee had decided to subsidise the meal by £7.50 so there we had a three course dinner for just £5!
The food? What do you expect for the price! Well, this was well presented and good quality, good value at £12.50 so obviously excellent value at a fiver! The evening, from where I was sitting, went well. Three hours swiftly passed, conversations and laughter flowed and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. In fact it was such a success we may try something similar next year …
Many thanks to Ian Colvin for researching the site and organising the event.
The annual carnival in Bishops Waltham is set for June 11th 2011 – I’ve just checked on Google after posting the info on the Manor Farm event which clashes! But this is open to all vehicles not just WW2
Here’s a quick heads up for an event in the far future – at the time of writing -but these things catch up with us quickly! Check the comment(s) below for updates
